About Amy

Amy graduated from Ashland University in 1992, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and a minor in Philosophy.

Upon graduation, she went to work for Creative Associates, Inc. in Mansfield, Ohio, a full-service advertising and marketing agency. She worked for Creative Associates until the day it closed in December, 2000.

In March of 2001, Amy was hired as the Executive Director of the Ashland Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. Her main function is to promote the Ashland Area as a convention and tourist destination to regional, state, national, and international visitors. Or, as she likes to call it, to be the #1 cheerleader for Ashland!

Amy participates in various ways in this community that she loves. She is a member of the Kiwanis Club (past President) and now Co-Chairs the new Kiwanis Safety Town Program, Ashland Public Library Board of Trustees (current Vice President), Co-founder and Chair of the Mohican Wildlife Weekend Planning Committee, Ashland Chautauqua Committee (Co-Chair), Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor Board (past President) and Ashland Main Street Board (current Secretary). She is a 2002 graduate of Leadership Ashland and 2009 graduate of the Ohio Tourism Leadership Academy. She served on the board of the Ohio Travel Association for three years and the Ashland Bicentennial Steering Committee from 2010 to 2015.

Amy is very interested in building relationships within our community and working together to make Ashland the best place to live, work, play, and raise a family.

Her husband, Russell, is a probation/parole officer for the Ohio Adult Parole Authority. Together they have one son, James, who is the light of their lives.

With a background in Education and Finance, Renae understands that everyone plays a unique role in the success of our community. Those who work diligently and honestly are a benefit to their businesses and society as a whole. She loves doing music with her husband Brian, as well as spending time with her family. Her advice: Navigate life in the positive lane!

About Emily

Some say first impressions are everything, and Emily is a strong advocate for making every first impression count! She is a Mapleton High School Class of 2011 alum and Muskingum University Class of 2015 graduate, majoring in Communication. Her passions include traveling (locally and abroad), hiking and reading. She is also a huge Cleveland Browns and Columbus Blue Jackets fan. Emily is excited to help serve and grow the Ashland Community!

About Kaylee

Kaylee is a graduate of Ashland High School Class of 2011 where she succeeded in Cheerleading for the Cheerleading program. She is an energetic individual with a positive attitude. You can always count on her having that great big smile! Her passions include her kids (Dawson and Lara). She also loves traveling to Florida with her husband Christopher. Kaylee and her family are huge Ohio State fans and can catch her at the Cleveland Brown Stadium cheering on the Brownies on a Sunday. Kaylee is excited to use her passion for the Ashland Community and continue to help make it a better place.

About John

John Swope is the Director of Field Education and Assistant Professor of Practical Theology at Ashland Theological Seminary. His background includes teaching middle school, pastoring in various ministries, as well as teaching and administrating in higher education. He holds advanced degrees in leadership, divinity and theology. John has served in a variety of leadership roles in the Brethren Church on the regional and national level, as well as at the university and seminary. John and his wife, Catherine, have four grown children and two grandchildren. They enjoy the out-of-doors, reading, and visiting their grandchildren!
