Barbara Lange is the President and CEO of the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce located in Ashland OH. Prior to joining the Chamber, Barbie was the co-owner, Treasurer of the Board of Directors and the Compliance and Human Resources Manager at Ashland Precision Tooling, LLC also located in Ashland OH. The business was formerly part of The Timken Company when she started her career there in 1978.
Her formal education began at Ashland where she earned an Associate in Arts degree in 1978 from Ashland College. In 2003, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from Malone College and was named the Outstanding Graduate of her class. Barbie has maintained certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) since 1999 through the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). In 2012, she received her certificate of completion at the Institute for Organization Management (IOM), a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. In 2015, she attained her Accredited Professional designation from the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Ohio (CCEO).
She serves on the Board of Directors for the Ashland County Cancer Association, Ashland County Women of Achievement, Ashland Main Street, and North Central Ohio Workforce Alliance. The Advisory Council for the Dauch College of Business and Economics at Ashland University, Ashland City Schools Strategic Planning Core Team, and the City of Ashland Targeted Action Planning Committee. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management, North Central Ohio Human Resource Association, Rotary International of Ashland, and the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Ohio as the Chair Elect of the Board of Directors. She is also a founding member of Advancing Industry of Ashland County and serves as the Vice President. Barbie also serves on the Selection Committee for the Ashland City Schools Foundation Distinguished Alumnus. Her past involvement includes President of the Board of Trustees of the United Way of Ashland County, serving on the Campaign Leadership Team as Co-Chair of the Industrial Division, and Co-Chair of the Day of Caring. Was a member of the Ashland County Works Council, and the Government Affairs Committee for the Richland Manufacturing Coalition. She has also been a part of the Ashland City Schools Academic Foundation, Richland-Ashland Job Service Employer Committee, Workforce Investment Board, Ashland City Schools EQUIP (Educational Quality Improvement Process) Team and the Regional Employee Assistance Program.
Grace Brethren Church in Ashland is where Barbie and her family are active members. She serves on the Committee on Staff and is a Sunday School class leader along with her husband. She has participated on four short-term mission teams to the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico, served on the Business and Music Commissions, and sang in the choir and various ensembles. She is a Leadership Ashland graduate, holds a certification in scuba diving, and was a Brytes 4-H club advisor. In 2007, she was honored as an Ashland County Woman of Achievement and in 2011 as a Distinguished Alumnus of Ashland High School. Her hobbies include knitting, sewing, making jewelry, singing, and traveling.
Barbie is the daughter of Cloyd and Mary Ann McNaull of Ashland. She and her husband Denis, a self-employed graphic illustrator/designer, reside in Ashland and have three grown sons and four darling grandchildren.
